Motorola launches two budget smartphones - meet Moto C and Moto C Plus

The image not only shows the coming of Moto C, Moto X, Moto Z, Moto G and Moto E series of smartphones about also reveals a lot about each of the Motorola devices. Before to the Moto C series, the Moto E devices use to be most affordable Motorola smartphones. Since the Moto E devices are not made available in the U.S, we don't think the company will be selling the Moto C and Moto C Plus smartphones there.

The Moto C Plus starts at €119 (about Rs 8390) for its 1GB/16GB model. The British unit of the Lenovo-owned company confirmed that the Moto C will be retailed by O2, Carphone, and Tesco, starting at £89.99, while the Moto C Plus will be sold at Argos for £109.99.

Powering the Moto C is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM.

The slightly beefier Moto C Plus includes a 5-inch, 1280 x 720 panel, a quad-core MediaTek CPU mated to as much as 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage (again, expandable via microSD slot).

Motorola had initially introduced the Moto X series of devices as their premium, flagship smartphones. As expected, the company is targeting developing markets, and the phones will be available in Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe this spring. While the former will pack a 5.5-inch full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display along with support for Moto Mods; the latter will pack a Shatter Shield screen and support for gigabit LTE and Moto Mods. Its rear camera is also better with 8MP resolution, although the front camera is 2MP, just like the "standard" Moto C model.

Both phones are said to feature memory card slots and dual sim slots depending on the region and will also come with headphone jacks. The biggest change is the 4000 mAh battery capacity inside this phone.

After they previously attempted with the Moto E that was priced at 129 United States dollars, things didn't quite turn out the way they expected, they are back with Moto C devices. The C Plus will likely come with 4,000 mAh battery. Motorola Moto C Plus records 720p videos at 30fps.
