The tennis ace took to social media Thursday to clarify a statement by her big sister Venus during a post-match interview at the French Open this week, which led many to believe her baby was revealed to be a bouncing baby girl. During a recent interview with Eurosport, following her second-round win at the French Open on Wednesday, May 31, Venus was asked what she'd like the baby to call her.

PARIS (AP) - Serena Williams wants everyone to slow down with all of that "It's a girl!" talk prompted by her sister Venus.

Serena announced her pregnancy with Reddit co-founder Alexis Olhanian in April, but has not hinted at the baby's gender.

The 35-year-old has said previously that she's waiting to find out the gender. 'We all want the baby to be named after us'.

"If I want something from my sisters, I say baby Venus, baby Lyn or baby Isha needs it".

'We're all like, baby V, baby Isha, baby Lyn, ' she explained.

She said she had been joking with her sisters about naming the baby after them.

Serena was at Roland Garros on Wednesday, watching her older sister beat Kurumi Nara of Japan in straight sets. "I did not grow up with any brothers, only sisters and we all say "she" more than 'he.' Unless I'm joking with my dad or Alexis and I'm trying to con something out of them too. I've always tricked all of them, what can I say!"

"Well, actually it was an accident". "I didn't tell a lot of people to be quite honest and I'd been saving it".

She continued: 'My phone doesn't ring that much, and thirty minute later I missed like four calls and I'm like, "that's weird", and then I picked it up and I was like "oh no", But it was a good moment.

"I think you just have to be ready, aware, and alert".
