Putin urges US business to help normalize Russia-US ties

India is committed to protecting climate, irrespective the Paris Climate Accord, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the St Petersburg International Economic Forum today, even as he avoided any direct reference to the USA withdrawing from the international deal.

"Well, in a sense that maybe, they should completely be falling apart, that will help", Putin said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, according to a live translation.

President Putin accused the White House of upsetting strategic parity and causing a "new spiral" in an arms race with Russian Federation.

He called for efforts to maintain and even accelerate the current positive situation of economic growth, in a bid to ensure that Russian Federation achieves its previously set goal of realizing a growth rate higher than world average by the year 2020.

Asserting that United States has always remained Russia's significant trade partner, President Putin said that only strong trade and investment ties might ensure a reliable safety net from political volatility.

U.S. intelligence has accused Putin of ordering a hacking and influence campaign to tilt last year's election in Trump's favour, after the billionaire pledged to boost ties with Moscow.

Kushner met with the ambassador, Sergei Kislyak, in early December, and suggested establishing a secure communications line between the Kremlin and Trump officials at a Russian diplomatic facility, according to US officials who reviewed intelligence reports describing Kislyak's account.

Putin insisted that it was perfectly normal for Kislyak to try to establish contacts and discuss future ties, adding that he hadn't even started to discuss specifics.

"What else is the ambassador supposed to do?" "There were no agreements". The Justice Department appointed a special counsel, Robert Mueller, to oversee the case after Trump fired former FBI Director James Comey.

Trump frequently tweets that the Russia investigation is "fake news" and said in a television interview he fired Comey because "this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story".

He also insisted that he didn't blame Trump for quitting the landmark accord and that the USA leader "shouldn't be judged" for his decision.

"The (Paris) agreement is a good one".

New Delhi, however, refrained from reacting to the charge of US President Donald Trump that India was trying to extract "billions and billions and billions" of dollars of foreign aid from the developed world for honouring the climate deal.

He joked that Trump's move made him a convenient person to blame for any spell of bad weather, including wet snow in Moscow on Friday, an extremely rare occurrence in the summer.

"We can not exploit the nature".
