With WatchOS 4, Apple Watch Is All About Fitness

Apple Watches get an update which is called watchOS 4.

Aside from the Siri watch face, a partnership with movie franchise Toy Story allows for an animated watch face featuring the characters, while another face will let you create some impressive kaleidoscope images from your photos. Users will also receive unique Monthly Challenges designed just for them.

watchOS 4 also improves app functionality and adds additional features to the Activity and Workout apps.

Apple has also prepped an updated Workout experience in watchOS 4. Music playlists can be set to start with workouts in the Workout app, too.

Apple issued a rapid-fire series of announcements particular to WatchOS 4. Users can now pick a playlist that automatically starts when beginning a workout, and swipe left in the Workouts app to control music while working out. watchOS 4 is available today to registered developers, and is expected to be released in the fall. Apple is also introducing a new Siri watch face that will display a timeline of relevant information decided upon by machine learning. Starting from high-intensity interval training to cardio and conditioning, the WatchOS 4 can detect sets completed by itself.

If that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, there's also a new flashlight application coming. General updates include faster performance and Core Bluetooth support, but those changes will take place under the hood.

The watchOS 4 operating system now offers more personalised workout goals using new Activity and Workout apps.

The tech giant is debuting a Siri watchface - or "Siri Face" - that can change dynamically based on your routines and the apps that you use. It can now automatically play music through the AirPods based on your preference. But perhaps the most exciting update is the fact that Siri can now be used on Apple Watch. So for all intents and purposes, it's basically the Apple Watch's own version of Google Now. Here are the most important new features.

Look for the Apple Watch 3 to be a more proactive assistant, helping to remind you of things that you have going on and maybe even suggesting that you go on a run depending on the amount of free time you have. For starters, expect more push notifications meant to motivate you to stay on track.
