PlayLink Connects Phones To PlayStation Games

'Hidden Agenda' is the next social game from the 'Until Dawn' crew

'Hidden Agenda' is the next social game from the 'Until Dawn' crew

Called PlayLink, this new "category of games" (as Sony calls it) is aimed primarily at the casual gamer and designed with social play in mind.

The twist here is that players will have - wait for it - hidden agendas that are sent direct to their phones, and they need to try and influence the game to get their own way. Just like its name suggests, That's You! was created to help friends test their knowledge of one another and even get to know each other batter.

Sony says your mobile device's touch-ready display, cameras, and sensors will be leveraged for "an exciting new way to play games with family and friends" on multiple screens. Players must once again link their mobile devices using PlayLink and combine their efforts to solve mysteries in the game. Also, there are scant details on how Sony plans to expand the collection.

Hidden Agenda, on the other hand, seems to involve fewer dicks.

With consoles, group playing is usually a challenge.

At its E3 conference this year, Sony has announced a new collection of smartphone-controlled games created to entertain the whole family, including those who might not usually play games. The trailer of PlayLink games show that these are a more social way to use the PlayStation console.

That's You! will be released free to all PlayStation Plus members on 4 July.

PlayLink titles range from crime thrillers to quick-fire quizzes.

So far, Sony has announced five titles as part of PlayLink: That's You, SingStar Celebration, Knowledge is Power, Frantics and a detective game called Hidden Agenda.
