Suns G Brandon Knight suffers torn ACL

Could the Phoenix Suns be looking to move Brandon Knight in a trade during the NBA Draft

Could the Phoenix Suns be looking to move Brandon Knight in a trade during the NBA Draft

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight suffered a torn ACL last week and is expected to miss the 2017-18 season, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. One reason Bledsoe was likely seen as expendable was because of Knight, however, and now his absence for most of the season could potentially change the mind of the Suns front office. He's now played for three teams in six National Basketball Association seasons.

The Suns later confirmed the awful news, stating that Knight tore his ACL while playing at his home in South Florida. Knight reportedly tore the ligament last week during a pro-am game in Miami.

Knight entered the league as the eighth overall pick in the 2011 draft. His first two seasons in Phoenix both ended prematurely due to health.

If the Suns were to move Bledsoe, Knight's presence on the roster would have been almost guaranteed for next season. Phoenix has been trying to trade Knight over the past year but found no team willing to take on Knight's contract.

Knight, 25, played in 54 games (five starts) last season and averaged 11.0 points and 2.4 assists in 21.1 minutes per game.
