Powerball Is Over $700 Million: Here's Why You Shouldn't Be Impressed

Powerball jackpot surges to $650 million

Powerball jackpot surges to $650 million

At $700 million, Wednesday night's Powerball Jackpot has become the second largest lottery jackpot in US lottery history. For the current jackpot, the cash prize would be $443.3 million.

Wednesday Powerball drawing will be at 10:59 p.m. ET.

The Pennsylvania Lottery has sold 17 Powerball jackpot-winning tickets since joining the multi-state game 15 years ago this summer.

The jackpot can be paid in a lump sum or in annuity of 30 annual payments that increase over time.

Tickets for Wednesday's jackpot are available at lottery retailers statewide.

If there are no winners tonight, the jackpot will jump to $1 billion, according to an official with DC Lottery. Shortly after the draw took place, he received a call from a customer service representative at theLotter informing him of his incredible jackpot win.

When it comes to modest numbers, the recent rule changes technically make it easier to win a prize because of a reduced number of red balls, known as the Powerball. Sales have been so high that the jackpot, which began rolling on June 14, went up Tuesday from $650 million to $700 million.

The next thing you should do after winning is contact the author of this story and share your prize with them.

"I would travel", Peay said. "Help a lot of people, I guess", he said. Players can choose the numbers or have them chosen randomly via the Quick Pick option.

"You've seen us say this many times, and we really mean it", said Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich. To win $50,000, players must match four of the winning numbers plus the Power Ball.

Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Tallahassee, Florida at 22:59 EST. This is due to there being a victor for that lottery earlier this month. Players can purchase tickets to the world's biggest lotteries, including the Mega Million, EuroMillions, the Italian SuperEnalotto, the EuroJackpot and more.
