Chelsea have agreed a fee worth £35mwith Arsenal for England worldwide winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sky Sports News understands.

According to reports, Chelsea have been rebuffed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who wants to play under Jürgen Klopp in central midfield.

No secret Antonio Conte is desperate to get some defence reinforcement and the talented Englishman is one of the first players in the Italian manager's summer shopping list.

A £35 million approach from the reigning Premier League champions was accepted by Arsenal but the midfielder is holding out for a move to Anfield. The 24-year old's reason is not, however, the fee but style of play.

Oxlade-Chamberlain possesses numerous hallmarks one would associate with a player favoured by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp and boasts a high work rate to go along with his malleable set of skills.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is in the final year of his contract and has been looking for a move away from the Emirates this summer after refusing to sign an extension.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is now on duty with the England squad, has started all of Arsenal's games this season but recently rejected a new contract offer following a meeting with manager Arsene Wenger.

Antonio Conte reportedly saw his bid of £40million accepted for the versatile England global but the deal has fallen through after Oxlade-Chamberlain decided against a move to Stamford Bridge.

According to English publication The Sun, the Gunners have accepted a bid of £40 million (R677 million) from the Blues for England worldwide Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal want any deal for the former Southampton midfielder completed as quickly as possible.

Chelsea have not made many moves since winning the Premier League in May, though they have picked up two straight wins following a disappointing season-opening defeat against Burnley.
