There's A Blade Runner Whisky On The Way

Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve has created a new blended whisky to accompany the much-anticipated movie's release.

It seems likely that those papers and that phone call are how Ryan Gosling's character finds Bautista's character in the feature film-not an essential piece of information, but it's still cool to see.

The first short focused on Jared Leto's Jared Leto's villainous Niander Wallace while the latest is titled 2048: Nowhere to Run.

The film will be released on Sony Pictures Japan's YouTube channel on September 26 and is apparently one of several projects slated as preludes to Blade Runner 2049.

In more Blade Runner news, Sony Pictures Japan has released a teaser clip of a new anime based on the film that will be directed by Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe. Hopefully subtitles will be ready to go for the debut, by then we'll be primed and ready; Blade Runner 2049 debuts in the United States on October 6.

As you can surmise from the title, the short film will bridge the gap between the original film's 2019 setting and the 30 years that have passed before the upcoming sequel. Well now, Japanese Blade Runner fans have one more thing to add to the "pro" column for this film. The brief video above also offers a closer look at its test animation, concept art, and some actual footage.

Watanabe is a reverent fan of Ridley Scott's masterpiece.

Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos.
