President Trump repeatedly slammed Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during the 2016 election

The sprinkler sprinkled. Jared Kushner, son-in-law and a senior adviser of the american president Donald Trump, has used his personal e-mail to communicate with other officials of the executive, instead of the secure messaging of the White House, acknowledged his lawyer.

The use of personal email accounts by members of Trump's administration has drawn considerable attention given that Trump throughout the 2016 campaign painted Hillary Clinton as a criminal for using a private email server.

Abbe Lowell, one of Kushner's lawyers, said in a statement that less than 100 emails have been sent to White House officials via this account since its creation in January.

Kushner's account was apparently set up during Trump's 2016 transition to power despite the NY billionaire's repeated accusations against his Democratic contender, Hillary Clinton, for using a private email server as the former U.S. secretary of state.

Rep. Trey Gowdy, a SC conservative who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and the top Democrat on that panel, Rep. Elijah Cummings, cite a recent Politico report that Jared Kushner set up a private email account after the election to conduct work-related business.

Citing current and former officials, The New York Times reported Monday at least six of Trump's advisers, including the president's former chief of staff Reince Priebus, occasionally used private email addresses to conduct official government matters.

It is not illegal for government officials to use private email accounts, however they must forward work-related messages to their government accounts so they can be archived and preserved. None of the emails appeared to contain sensitive or classified information, according to an anonymous source who spoke with the Washington Post and Politico's own review of about two dozen emails.

Cummings additionally asked Kushner to provide the addresses for all private email accounts he used to conduct any government business, a list of all the emails he either sent or received at those addresses that involved official government business, and information about the security of the domain he used.

The White House acknowledged the use of private emails by staff as being "very limited". However, she was attending White House meetings prior to becoming an official (yet unpaid) federal employee in March.

Clinton admitted her use of a private email server was a "dumb mistake", but, she added, "a dumber scandal".
