While notoriety continues to surround Woody Allen's personal life, the writer/director never fails to corral a high-profile cast for his films.

Oscar-winner Kate Winslet is coming undone, against the gorgeous backdrop of 1950s Coney Island, in the new trailer for Woody Allen's period crime drama Wonder Wheel.

And then there's Justin Timberlake as a lifeguard named Mickey, who becomes romantically entangled with Ginny.

Not only is Carolina making amorous advances at Ginny's would-be object of infidelity, but she also brought back some risky baggage from her marriage to a mobster.

We follow four characters: a former stage actress to the changing character; his daughter, came to hide in it to escape the gangsters; his father-in-law, a technician in the carousel; and a young supervisor of swimming, aspiring screenwriter, who quickly falls in love with the young woman. Consequently, things quickly spin out of control, affecting everyone in this weird romantic web. Finally, the presence of Kate Winslet, Juno Temple, Jim Belushi and Justin Timberlake give hope that the Wonder Wheel has charisma to spare.

"Wonder Wheel" is the first film that Winslet and Allen have worked on together. It will be released on December 1, 2017 after debuting as the Closing Night selection for the 55th New York Film Festival.

This not only marks the first time Allen has had an awards season film since "Match Point" in 2005, but also the first film that Amazon will distribute on its own.
